The Dancing Plague is one of the most well-known mass hyseria stories. In the Salem Witch Trials there were not a large numbe of people who sated it, just like the Dancing Plague. In the Dancing Plague, a woman named Frau Troffea began dancing with great passion on a street in Strausberg.Eventually, over a months time there were over 400 people dancing on the street, who eventually died. The way people all began to believe the lies, is because the more people do it, the more the people feel peer pressure to do it too. "We shall be pitied someday" (Miller7) They also do it because of the worry of what might happen if they don't join in. Each of the people who danced believed that there would be something bad that would happen to them.
